An incredibly fun way to spend your time in London through July is to find a spot to enjoy watching Wimbledon.
If you really wanted tickets but just couldn’t get your hands on them this year, there are plenty of buzzing, outdoor spots to enjoy the tennis.
We have compiled a list of big screens across London that will be showing Wimbledon free of charge.
Canary Wharf
At Canary wharf, there is a big screen showing the tennis free of charge.
It is open from 11am-7pm throughout the tournament and later if the tennis overruns.
The Piazza, Wimbledon
If you want to feel like you’re right in the thick of things but you don’t have actual tickets for Wimbledon then this is your best bet.
There is a large screen with deck chairs as well as strawberries and Pimm’s nearby.
Covent Garden
The East Piazza in Covent Garden has deckchairs and a big screen showing Wimbledon.
If you are looking to stay in central London but still catch some of the tennis then this is a great option.
St Katherine Docks
Free entry daily throughout the tournament and deck chairs are available on a first come first serve basis.
Summer in the Square, Marylebone
This spot is usually private but opens to the public for a few days for Summer in the Square, a free outdoor festival.
Part of this festival includes screenings of the last few days of Wimbledon.
Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross
At Coal Drops Yard you will find a huge cinema screen airing cult classics and popular films as well as Wimbledon.
The seats take the form of steps made of grass and there are plenty of food and drink options nearby.
Hackney Bridge
Hackney Bridge has a large screen with landscape garden overlooking the canal.
The outdoor bar offers food and drinks from local traders.
Strawberries & Screen at Duke of York Square
Chelsea’s Duke of York Square will show Wimbledon from July 14-16 and is also free of charge.
Viewers can bring a picnic or get food from surrounding restaurants.
Vinegar Yard
Vinegar Yard is an iconic outdoor food and drink venue at London Bridge.
It is hosting a Summer of Screening which includes Wimbledon and Love Island.
There are cocktails and street food for viewers to enjoy.
St James’ Market
There is viewing space at St James’ Market with free deck chairs.
There are lots of outdoor terraces nearby to grab a cocktail.
