A south east London serving Met Police officer has been charged with sexual assault against two females.
The alleged assault took place in 2017 when Special Constable (SC) Sergeant Ben Smith was off duty.
SC Smith, who is attached to the South East Command Unit, will appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on Monday, 13 March.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “A serving Met Police Special Constable (SC) has been charged with sexual assault.
He is currently suspended from duty.
“SC Sergeant Ben Smith was charged on Thursday, 16 February with two counts of sexual assault.
“The assault is alleged to have taken place against two females in 2017 when the officer was off duty.
“SC Smith, who is attached to the south east command unit, appears at Bromley Magistrates Court on Monday, 13 March.
“He is currently suspended from duty.”
