One Google review says: “Classy Venue, Classy Music, Classy Cocktails - not too rammed or busy.

“This was a really nice bar with panoramic skyline views from every seat and table. Easily able to compete with the Shard.

“The moment you walk in everything is simply pristine and the staff are knowledgable about their drinks, friendly and not too in your face.”

 

  • Oliver's Jazz Bar - 9 Nevada St, London SE10 9JL

A live jazz venue, full of old furniture and sporting a rabbit's head with antlers. If you love live music, this venue is perfect for you. Oliver's Jazz Bar describes itself as being “a cornerstone of the London Jazz Scene since 2003”. Admission is £10 A google review reads: “Best bar in London. Vibe is immaculate. You must go here if you value your time on earth.”

 

  • Slug & Lettuce - The O2 - 14 Peninsula Square, London SE10 0DY

A classic that you can’t go wrong with – especially if you love cocktails. Be sure to try their famous Afternoon Teas, bottomless brunch or Pornstar Martini Trees. Each cocktail is themed and has an exciting design.

One reviewer said: “What a lovely place, I was drinking in this slug and lettuce for the first time and the service was excellent.

“Shain served me, absolutely etiquette for customer service.

“Amazing honey- passion fruit margarita, went above and beyond to make sure my glass had a half rim of salt in case I didn't fancy the salt on my cocktail! Very friendly and welcoming.”

  • Boom Battle Bar – 23 Entertainment Avenue, London SE10 0DY

Another one based inside the O2 arena. This is a bar with something different. Perfect for date or a work team building exercise as it offers a selection of games including Axe Throwing, Crazier Golf, AR Darts, Beer Pong, Shuffleboard and much more.

Entertainment bars are becoming very popular now and there is a good reason why. Have tones of fun trying something different – it is bound to bring a few laughs.

A Google review reads: “We went to this venue in January 2023 for our Xmas party - they kindly moved our 2022 date due to train strikes and we had a blast.

“There was something for everyone in a party of 80 and Tommy looked after all our needs from welcome drinks, food and activities.

“Everybody raved about the food, games and karaoke.”

While you could argue that this venue is a bit more of a pub by definition, it still has an amazing range of cocktails. You can’t say no to the views of the Thames and if you aren’t much of a spirits fan they have a brilliant wine list.

A reviewer said: “Great food, wine list, fantastic view of the river (if you get a table by the window) especially at dusk and sunset. There are also tables outside, by the river.”
