Children and homeless people in Bromley are at risk of going without food after a charity admitted it is critically low on supplies.
Living Well Bromley runs a foodbank at Holy Trinity Church in Penge but volunteers have warned the cupboards are almost bare.
Co-chairwoman of the charity, Claire Forbes, told News Shopper: “We have reached rock bottom.
“All our food is donated by schools, churches, people and local businesses. The demand is busy and in summer children don’t get free schools meals.
“Parents rely on us to feed children and we are running so low.
"It is the worst it has been in about a year and we provide over 150 people a week with a bag of food.
“We are a grassroots community. We are run entirely by local volunteers who help support other locals."
She urged people to donate whatever dry food they can, ideally things like tins of beans, soup, corned beef, tuna, rice and pasts.
People can also offer financial support to Living Well via its website.
