Bar and café owners in Brockley have all banded together after another store in the area was hit by vandals.
Saima Arshal woke up this morning to find that her business Masala Wala Café had the front door window smashed open.
Speaking to News Shopper and she tread over the broken glass this morning (January 15), she said: “It’s in a complete state.”
“We had customers messaging us about it this morning in their commute.
“An opportunist has smashed the window with a bin. It was last night and actually nothing was taken.
The café on Brockley Cross had its business disrupted this weekend due to a moped crash as well and Ms Arshal said this latest incident will have a big financial impact on her business.
She said: “A kid on a moped smashed into the railings outside our place on Saturday, we got taped off during peak time with limited access.
“We only had one third of the takings we should have had. We have had a s**t weekend to be honest.
“It’s a high price for a small business to pay. It takes quite a lot of force and effort needed to break it but they didn’t take anything. They don’t know the financial impact it has on a small business.”
Another local business in the same area, The Brockley Deli, had its front window smashed on December 12, sending shards of glass over the cakes on its display unit.

The one positive thing both owners said about the incidents was the outpouring of support they had from other local business owners.
Ms Arshal said: “We have quite a tight knit community in Brockely and we have had a great response to it, I have had all these nice and heart-warming messages this morning.”
WaterintoBeer, a Brockley shop, messaged the café on twitter saying: “So sorry to hear this. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help.”
