Tributes have been paid to two talented musicians who died in a horror crash on Saturday.
Mike Crampton and his friend James Montegriffo, both aged in their 20s, died in a crash on the A20 near Farningham in the early hours of Saturday (April 29).
Another man was airlifted to hospital in London with serious injuries and a further seven people required treatment.
Mr Crampton played keyboard for the Dartford band The Pisdicables.
A statement on the band’s Facebook page said: “Our keys player and best friend Mike Crampton tragically lost his life in a car accident in the early hours of yesterday morning along with his friend James Montegriffo.
“I can’t even begin to tell you how much we are hurting right now. We have lost our brother, an incredible and unique human who will be irreplaceable to everyone who was lucky enough to know him.”
The ska punk band, formed in a garage in 2012, was very popular in the local music scene and Mike had performed with many other local bands.
Dan Goatham, from the band Spoilers who Mike collaborated with, wrote on Facebook: “I met Mike through playing gigs together over a few years and we both loved each other’s bands.
“Mike was an incredible musician and someone me and all of Spoilers loved to spend time with. Thoughts are now with his family, his band The Pisdicables and close friends.
“I'll always admire Mike as a musician and what a great attitude he had towards live music. Great bloke.”
Gibraltar Live Music Society posted a tribute to Mr Montegriffo on its Facebook page which described him as ‘dear friend’.
The statement posted on Monday (May 1) said: “Today at the #MayDayCelebrations we couldn't help but think of our dear friend James Montegriffo who sadly passed away this weekend.
“James was a regular in our local scene and performed quite regularly as part of Side Project.
“Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this very difficult time.”
Kent Police are appealing for witnesses for the collision, which happened on the A20 at Eglantine Lane just after 1.20am.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw a black Vauxhall Insignia with a 61 registration plate being driven on the A20 from the direction of Brands Hatch towards Swanley.
A blue Citroen Berlingo van and a white VW Polo were also involved in the collision.
Witnesses are asked to call the serious collision investigation unit appeal line on 01622 798535.
