A two tonne pile of rubbish, derelict boats and gas cylinders are on fire in Erith.
Eight fire engines and 58 firefighters and officers are dealing with the fire in Manor Road.
A hazard zone has been set up as gas cylinders can explode in the heat.
The fire is also affecting nearby undergrowth.

London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "There is a huge amount of smoke in the local area and we'd advise any residents nearby affected to close their doors and windows."
The Brigade was called at 9.48 this morning.
Fire crews from Erith, Bexley, Plumstead, Dagenham and surrounding stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
