Police are investigating after a horse was shot dead in a field in Chislehurst on Friday.
The horse, named Woolfie, was found dead with a bullet wound to the head in a field near Kemnal Manor Stables.
Staff at the stables reportedly discovered Woolfie while checking on the animals.
A spokesman for the Met Police said officers were called to a field near Kemnal Road to reports of an animal shot dead at around 3.20pm.
He said: "Officers attended and found a horse deceased.
"A vet was called and enquiries are underway to establish the cause of the animal's death.
"Detectives from Bromley CID are investigating."
