A 22-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in Erith.

He was reportedly attacked by two men in Slade Green Road at about 1.30pm on May 4.

The alleged victim was taken to a Kent hospital and subsequently to a south London hospital in a critical condition to receive treatment for serious head injuries.

It is believed that the two men approached him and pushed him over a garden wall - they then proceeded to kick and punch him.

One suspect is described as a black man, aged around 20, about 5ft 10ins tall, average build with short black hair, wearing plain dark joggers and a plain dark t-shirt.

The other is described as a lighter skinned black man, aged around 20, about 5ft 11ins tall, and carrying a dark coloured man-bag.

The 22-year-old man has since been discharged from hospital.

DC James Bray of Bexley CID said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a man in the street in broad daylight.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information to contact us as soon as possible."
