Sidcup would be given £1m from London mayoral hopeful Zac Goldsmith if he gets voted into office.
As part of his £20m Action Plan for Greater London, the Conservative candidate confirmed on a visit to the Bexley that the money for Sidcup High Street would go towards bringing empty shops back into use while improving the aesthetics of shop fronts at the moment.
The funds would also be put towards improving the greenery along the high street by providing hanging baskets and increasing the number of street trees.
The rest of the money would go towards an increased provision of advice and support to businesses to encourage them to move to the High Street to reduce the number of empty shops.
Mr Goldsmith said: "Supporting local communities and High Streets is vital if we are to keep our economy strong and create jobs for Londoners.
“My Action Plan for Greater London will see £1m pledged to boost Sidcup High Street and encourage more businesses and visitors.”
The mayoral elections are taking place on May 5.
