A lorry burst into flames on the M25 last night (April 11), closing all three lanes of the motorway but leaving the trailer's juicy contents undamaged.
The fire, which was thought to be caused by overheating brakes, destroyed 10 per of the HGV's trailer - but the grapes inside survived.
The truck set alight at 6.15pm between junctions 2 and 3, for the Darenth Interchange and the Swanley Interchange, on the anticlockwise route.
The motorway did not re-open until 7pm.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) spokesman said: "Fortunately a good Samaritan in a sludge gulper stopped and applied water to the fire, which limited the damage.
