A car caught fire on the A2 at Kidbrooke earlier, causing congestion on the roads.
The A2 Kent bound was blocked just before the A2213/Kidbrooke Interchange, but has since reopened.
At least one fire engine was called to deal with the blaze which started shortly before 12.40pm.
Queues were building back to the Sun in the Sands roundabout/ Woolwich Road flyover.
