It was not a happy ending for the New Cross sex cinema, which has had its license revoked by the council.
The notorious Club 487, in New Cross Road, was infamous in the underground world of swingers and group romps.
News Shopper witnessed first-hand seedy sex acts in the disused printing shop, which charged punters £15 entry.
There were reports of hard-core pornography being shown while customers pleasured themselves - and each other.
Despite a police raid in March, manager Peter Jones applied for a license in April, previously stating the venue was nothing more than a "private members club".
He told News Shopper: "People think they can come here and have sex like that. It's not like that.
"But what's wrong with it if there was? They're all over 21."
The venue is situated opposite a church and the Addey and Stanhope School, and a local resident told News Shopper: "I’m grateful that it’s closed, and for the school next door they had lots of children coming out.

The council initially granted a license with a host of stringent conditions, including installing CCTV in all rooms except the bathroom and only showing under-18 films.
The club allegedly began issuing membership cards in accordance with licensing laws.
But Lewisham councillors have called time on the establishment, reportedly going since the start of the year.
Owner of Diva Mi, a neighbouring shop, was glad the cinema was closing down.
She told News Shopper: "I don’t think something like this should be in the road.
"That sort of business shouldn’t be in the area."
In a council meeting last Tuesday, October 20 - which the press and public were barred from - councillors deemed the basement was, in fact, being used as a sex cinema and R18 movies were being screened, something which needed a further license.
The committee also judged the place had operated without members of staff on duty, with a friend of Mr Jones left in charge playing porno for patrons.
He claimed the top-shelf material was on site purely as storage and screened by mistake.
But Mr Jones himself, reportedly of Northdown Road in Margate, was found to have lied in his representation.
The entrance to the club
He presented a document to the committee claiming he had changed his name, but the Met Police refuted the paper held any credibility.
The Met told the meeting Mr Jones had been convicted under his previous name.
Coun Janet Daby, member for community safety, said: “I am very pleased that the licencing committee took this decision.
“We expect all licensed businesses in Lewisham to operate responsibly and to comply with licencing conditions.
“Club 487 clearly flouted these and the consequence was the loss of their licence.”
Mr Jones, who has 21 days to appeal, was unavailable for comment.
