Gravesend lifeboats were called after a person threatened to jump into the River Thames at Erith.
The lifeboat was launched yesterday (October 8) to a person attempting to enter the river at 5.20pm.
A Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) spokesperson said: "Once on scene the lifeboat was informed that the person was now away from the river and in the care of the police."
The lifeboat was then released from service and returned to the station.
