Two men have been seriously injured after reportedly falling from a lorry on the M20 this morning (July 22).
The motorway was closed in both directions between Junction 2 for Wrotham and Junction 1 for Swanley after the incident at around 10am.
An air ambulance, four ambulances and two ambulance cars were sent to the scene.
One of the casualties was airlifted to St George's Hospital in Tooting, while the other was taken by road to King's College Hospital.
The coast-bound carriageway re-opened at 11.10am after the air ambulance took off.
The London-bound side has also now re-opened.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 10.08am to a report of two male casualties on the hard shoulder of the M20 London-bound between Junctions 2 and 1.
"One of the casualties has been airlifted to a London hospital and the other has been taken by road ambulance to a London hospital. Both have serious injuries.
"A road closure was in place in both directions to enable the air ambulance to land but the coastbound carriageway has since been reopened.
"Officers are currently carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances behind the incident."
