Two men have been arrested following an armed robbery at a bank in Sydenham (3 June).
At around 3pm a man entered Nat West bank in Sydenham Road brandishing a handgun, threatening customers and staff before making off on foot with a quantity of cash.
Before this, at around 2.30pm, a man entered a post office in Footscray Road, intimating he was in possession of a firearm.
He demanded cash but fled empty handed.
No-one was injured and no shots were fired during the incidents.
Shortly afterwards, officers from the Flying Squad supported by firearms officers arrested a man in Malyons Road, Lewisham. A quantity of cash was recovered.
A second man was also arrested nearby.
