A Loomis custodian was attacked by a man who barged him to the ground and stole the cash box we was carrying in Sydenham yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the robbery outside Sports Direct in Bell Green Road.

The suspect, described as a black man in his early 20s and 6ft 2ins tall, was wearing a black top with the hood up and a beanie-style hat underneath.

He also had on black jogging bottoms, black trainers and black gloves and was said to have run off in the direction of Bell Green Lane.

The male custodian was treated at the scene for minor injuries to his knee and elbow by the London Ambulance Service.
