IN NO particular order, the top 10 film stars to have - at one point - resided in News Shopper's patch.
1. Gemma Arterton - Former Bond girl Arterton was born in Gravesend and North Kent Hospital and attended Gravesend Grammar School for Girls.
Her breakthrough role was in 2007's St Trinian's, and she has gone on to star in everything from Hollywood blockbusters (Prince of Persia, Clash of the Titans) to low budget British comedies (Tamara Drew, Song for Marion).
2. Gary Oldman - Raised in Hatcham Park Road, New Cross, Oldman is best known these days for being in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, the Harry Potter films and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, for which he received an Oscar nomination.
But he made his name playing bad guys, with hugely memorable turns in Leon, The Fifth Element and Air Force One.
3. MacKenzie Crook - The Pirates of the Caribbean actor was educated at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys, Dartford, and joined the Orchard Youth Theatre when he was 15 years old.
His breakthrough role was as the gaunt, self-important Gareth Kennan in sitcom The Office.
4. Michael York - Most famous for wearing a 23rd century tunic, holding a ray gun and looking immensely pleased with himself in Logan's Run - and later for playing Basil in Austin Powers - York attended Bromley Grammar School for Boys in the 1950s.
5. Vanessa Redgrave - Born into a distinguished acting family, Redgrave has risen to the status of national icon, starring in a variety of films including Howard's End, Mission Impossible and Blow-Up - scenes for which were filmed in Maryon Park, Charlton. She was born in Greenwich.
6. Jude Law - One of the biggest British film stars around today, Lewisham-born Law has starred in films ranging from The Talented Mr Ripley and Closer to Sherlock Holmes and Road to Perdition.
He has also worked with such directors as Kenneth Brannagh, Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
7. Dominic Cooper - Good looking and smooth tongued, Cooper could be seen as a young pretender to Law. He grew up in Greenwich, attending Thomas Tallis School in Kidbrooke.
He has starred in The History Boys, Mamma Mia! and An Education, and more recently took up the role of Tony Stark (aka Iron Man)'s dad, Howard, in the Captain America films.
8. Sir Roger Moore - The epitome of cool as James Bond and the suave and sophisticated star of 60s television series The Saint, Moore lived with his first wife, actress and singer Dorothy Squires, in Wansunt Road, Bexley, after they married in 1953.
9. Hugh Bonneville - Born in Blackheath, the Notting Hill and Tomorrow Never Dies star is probably best known for playing the Earl of Grantham in Downton Abbey.
10. Daniel Day-Lewis - Two years after his birth, Day-Lewis's family moved to Croom's Hill, Greenwich, where he grew up.
Now a three-times Oscar winner (for My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood and Lincoln), Day-Lewis has become a giant in the acting profession.
