A THAMESMEAD bridge is being given a £100,000 boost and residents can use their creative flair to design a light sculpture.
The Eastern Way Bridge, over the A2016 in the centre of the Thamesmead flyover, is a key link between north and south Thamesmead and is set to be transformed.
Bexley Council has secured the funding from the Cory Environmental Trust in Britain and members of the public will even be asked to design a landmark feature on the route.
Including installation of coloured architectural lights, the project will make the bridge a more welcoming place and it is hoped more pedestrians and cyclists will use it.
A creative workshop is happening between 3pm and 7pm on November 29 at the Thamesmead Youth and Community Centre in Belvedere Road where people can discuss ideas with designers.
