A VIDEO has emerged of Beckenham MP Bob Stewart 'snoozing' during a parliamentary debate on the so-called 'bedroom tax'.
In the video, Mr Stewart can be seen sat behind Conservative MP Anne Main with his eyes closed.
Mr Stewart told News Shopper: "I can't remember whether I was asleep, I may have just closed my eyes but it is quite possible.
"Sorry, but sometimes it happens, it is quite normal, a lot of people do actually close their eyes in there.
"I was in there for four hours and I wasn't even allowed to speak."
MPs were discussing the impact of the spare room subsidy on the poor and disabled, notably Stephen Pound, whose own brother uses his 'spare' bedroom for kidney dialysis.
