THE driver of a broken down retro car was forced to push his vehicle to safety after it became stranded at the Dartford Crossing toll booths this morning.
Traffic was already queuing back as far as Junction 30 near Lakeside during this morning’s rush hour when the Panther Kallista I broke down yards from the tolls.
These pictures show how the driver got out of his car in a lane close to the auto-tolls and pushed it out of the carriageway.
A commuter from Gravesend told News Shopper: “It was already chaos at the crossing this morning and it had taken me 25 minutes to get this far.
“This poor guy seemed to have broken down right in the middle of one of the queues towards the auto-toll booths and he was frantically trying to get his car out the way.
“I felt a bit sorry for him, as there wasn’t much more he could do.”
