A SMALL dog was mauled to death by two Staffordshire Bull Terriers in a Welling park on Monday (June 24).
The horrific attack took place at lunchtime in Danson Park after the dogs were reportedly off their leads and beyond the control of their owner.
A Bexley police spokesman said: "Officers were called to an incident in Danson Park, Welling, on Monday at around 12.40pm to an allegation that a small dog had been attacked and killed by two other dogs that were off their leads and out of the control of their owner.
"Investigations in to this incident are ongoing and police would like to speak to the owner of two dogs, possibly light tan coloured Staffordshire Bull Terrier types, who left the scene before police arrived.
"The owner is described as approximately 40 years old, of average build, about 5ft 8in tall with short receding hair.
"He was wearing a blue rain coat and he is described further as of possible Chinese origin.
"Anyone with information about this incident should call 101 and ask to be connected to PC Lee Sharp at Bexleyheath Police Station.
