A POWER cut in Petts Wood left businesses unable to serve customers today (April 18).
At 9.24am a power cut caused 20 customers of UK Power Network on Fairway in Petts Wood to be without power.
A spokesperson for Cafe Plaza, one of the businesses that has been affected by the power cut, said: "It’s ruined our breakfast and lunch trade.
"It’s not looking good for dinner either."
Other shops and businesses were forced to display signs in their windows claiming that they could not serve customers.
Scope, the charitable organisation, who have a shop on Fairway, had to stop trading because of the lack of power.
A spokesman for UK Power Network said: "UK Power Networks engineers are working as quickly as possible to restore power supplies to 20 customers in the Station Square area of Petts Wood.
"A fault on an underground electricity cable interrupted supplies at 9.24am today.
"We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.
"Our customer service advisers are proactively ringing those customers who have contacted us to keep them updated."
