GHOSTS of Londoners from the 19th century to the 1940s spooked commuters and passers-by on seven of the capital’s bridges yesterday.
But the pale and sallow looking figures were very much alive and part of a live performance art project.
Two performers dressed as spirits appeared on bridges between Tower Bridge and London Bridge during yesterday's rush hour.
Each ghost moved up and down the bridge and disappeared after one hour into side streets.
The concept behind the project was inspired by statistics that showed how in the current economic climate people are spending more time at work and less time with friends and families.
It is the largest live performace piece Greenwich-based artist Natalia Skobeeva has worked on and she aimed to challenge the routine of overwork and question current social values, by reminding us of the fragility of human life.
