Three Kent Campsites all within 90 minutes drive of south east London have been rated as some of the best in the UK.

In a list of the UK’s top 150 Outstanding Campsites created by Campsites.co.uk, 10 campsites within two hours drive of London made the list, with three located in Kent, within easy reach of south east London.

The list highlights the best campsites, touring spots and glamping destinations across the UK, ranging from eco-friendly forest escapes to family-friendly holiday parks.

Coming in as the closest spot to south east London on the list, Luna Domes is just an hour's drive away in Edenbridge.

Here you can go glamping in luxurious domes in the Kent countryside, with views of the opulent Tudor manor, and some even have their own hot tubs if you’re looking for a romantic getaway.

Luna Domes was awarded a 4.87 rating out of five, with 91 percent of visitors saying they would recommend it as a place to stay.

The domes are kitted out with everything from a private bathroom, king sized beds, fridge and kitchenette along with private decking areas to relax and enjoy the woodland scenery of Edenbridge.

If you fancy a day trip, the area is home to National Trust properties like Knole, known as the UK’s oldest surviving deer park, and Chartwell House, home to Winston Churchill.

There are also dog-friendly domes if you want to bring your dog along for the trip, with prices starting from £150 a night.

Pococksgate Farm, Tumbridge Wells

Just an hour from south east London you’ll find Pococksgate Farm, where you can glamp in quaint shepherds huts surrounded by the fields and woodland of High Weald, known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The campsite was rated 4.99 out of ten by visitors, with 100 percent saying they would recommend the location to others.

The huts contain all of the mod-cons including a fridge, microwave and kitchenette along with a bathroom and hairdryer.

Outdoors you’ll find a BBQ for those summer days, and with underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove these huts serve as a great cozy location to visit during the autumn and winter months.

A close drive from the campsite you’ll find plenty of historic places to visit including Penshurst Place and Gardens, a Tudor manor house dating back to the 14th century, and Sissinghurst Gardens featuring 460 acres of landscaped gardens.

Coxhill Camping, Dover

When is it open? May 24 to September 14.

Finally on our list, located in the coastal town of Dover, Coxhill Camping offers 45 pitches, with prices starting from £15 for an adult and £6 for children.

Here you can camp within seven acres of land surrounded by woodland and within 15 minutes drive of Dover, home to the famous White Cliffs as well as Dover Castle.

The campsite was scored a 4.94 rating out of 5, with 97 percent of campers saying they would recommend the campsite to others.

With countryside views, fire pits and countryside walks to the Kent Downs, this campsite is well suited to any camper looking for a more rustic camping experience, whilst still offering the luxuries of bathroom facilities as well as a nearby pub just 15 minutes walk away.

It’s also located on a working farm with plenty of animals to see, making it a great spot for a family camping trip, and dogs are also allowed too.
