Cator Park, Berkeley's Kidbrooke Village

With its 20 acres of green space, this David Attenborough award-winning park is home to hundreds of trees offering a scenic location to take a picnic.

The park also has a clear river pool and plenty of water sources to sit by and survey the wildlife on a nice day.

For the children, the park also offers an adventure playground with plenty of things to explore, designed by Apes Adventure Playground Engineers.

The park is accessible by only a few minutes walk from Kidbrooke station.

Central Park, Greenwich Peninsula

Located within a short walk of the O2 and the popular IFS Cloud Cable Car, Central Park is a great spot to enjoy a picnic with views of the Thames.

Offering 2.8 acres of land, this park offers plenty of tree-lined areas if you want to enjoy a picnic in the shade.

Nearby, you will also find Greenwich Peninsula’s Ecology Park, stretching across four acres with 80 different species of birds to find, open to visit from 10am to 5pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 

Elephant Park, Elephant and Castle

If you fancy visiting somewhere where you can take a picnic listening to the sounds of water, head over to Elephant Park.

Located in Elephant and Castle, Elephant Park offers two acres of land which features colourful rain gardens and walkways along with a water playscape otherwise known as “Elephant Springs”.

With its naturalistic planting scheme you wouldn’t think this park was located in such close distance to central London.
