A number of food festivals are set to take place in south east London this summer – with the first happening this month.
Whether you are looking to try some vegan food or want to spice things up with some jerk chicken, there’s bound to be something for you this summer.
Free From Festival, Woolwich Works
Where? Saturday, May 25 from 11am - 6pm
When? Woolwich Works, The Fireworks Factory, 11 No. 1 Street, London, SE18 6HD
How much? £11.50 for sessions between 11am and 2pm, £1.50 for the final session at 4pm, free admission for children under 12 and carers.
Hosted by Free From Events, the festival marks the UK’s first gluten, dairy and refined sugar-free food festival.
Guests will have the chance to explore an array of stalls selling treats from chocolate, desserts, savoury snacks and street food.
There will also be drinks on offer from gluten-free beer, organic wine and refined sugar-free beverages.
The event will also feature talks and demos including free from cookery classes for anyone looking to level-up their cooking skills.
Keto and Low Carb Festival, Woolwich Works

When? Sunday, May 26 from 11am - 5pm
How much? £11.50 for sessions between 11am and 1pm, £1.50 for the final session at 3pm, under 12s and carers go free.
Another event at Woolwich Works on our list will be the UK’s first keto, low carb and diabetic friendly food festival hosted by Keto & Low Carb Events.
The event will feature vendors selling keto and low carb treats from chocolate, desserts, street food and cocktails.
There will also be a line-up of talks and demos with classes on how to create keto and low carb meals.
Street Food at the Castle, Severndroog Castle
Where? Severndroog Castle, Castle Wood, Shooters Hill, Greenwich, SE18 3RT
When? June 7, July 12, August 9 and September 6
How much? Free
Hosted outside Sevendroog Castle amid the ancient woodlands of Oxleas Woods, this street food festival will feature food from a host of vendors.
Visitors can try goods from vegan Caribbean food, pizza, burgers, tacos and Lebanese cuisine alongside an onsite bar if you fancy a drink, with all the proceeds going to the castle.
Visitors can also bring their dogs, with a dog stall selling takeaway dog treats so your dog doesn’t feel left out.
Taste of the Caribbean Food and Drink Festival, Beckenham
Where? Beckenham Place Park, Beckenham Hill Road, Beckenham, BR3 1SY
When? Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7 from 10am - 8pm
How much? Adults £15.3o, children £8.38, under 5’s free.
For anyone with a love of Caribbean food and drink, this festival will feature a range of food stalls along with music inspired by the Caribbean and family fun activities.
In what has been named the UK’s “biggest” Caribbean festival, there will be 25 restaurants and food vendors representing the islands of the Caribbean.
Guests can try over 50 variations of dishes, from classics like jerk chicken and curry goat to vegan variations of popular dishes.
There will also be live music from acts like The Marley Experience and UB4D playing reggae classics to add to the Caribbean vibe.
The festival will also feature 45 traders with stalls ranging from cosmetics to clothing, and activities for the kids including funfair rides and a bouncy castle.
