I AM certain I am not the only Erith resident who has almost crashed their car at the roundabout in Erith after having spotted the startling fishy sculpture recently deposited there.
It is hideous, vulgar, gaudy, pointless and a new barnacle on the face of Erith town centre.
To learn it cost £60,000 was astounding.
It brings to mind one of those ghastly ornaments you would have found adorning your great aunt's sitting room in 1965, which clashed horribly with the brown and orange curtains.
I doubt Erith residents are inspired by whoever's coat of arms it represents.
I am sure they would much prefer the roadworks are completed in a timely fashion, so the horrendous delays on the approach road to the Dartford Tunnel and Bluewater are finished before Christmas.
How long it will be before this "work of art" is vandalised? What on earth was Bexley Council thinking of?
