I HAD to write to you about the monstrosity I have just seen on the roundabout at Erith on the junction at the top of Bronze Age Way.
Who on earth commissioned such a dreadful sculpture to worry residents and visitors?
Was there any consultation about what Erith people would like on the roundabout? How about some flowers instead?
I first thought it was an inflatable someone had put there as a joke and then I realised it looked permanent.
It looks very childish and may be suited more to the swimming baths as an ornament.
If we have to have a statue could it not have been something modern made of bronze or stainless steel - perhaps something to do with Erith such as a ship.
Please do not turn our borough into a joke.
