Theft of motorcycles, mopeds and scooters have more than doubled in Bexley in the past year.
Figures released by Met as part of Operation Venice - a London-wide crackdown on vehicle theft - showed 115 vehicles were stolen between 2013 and 2014 compared to 260 between 2014 and 2015.
Met officers and officers from City of London Police conducted mass checks on parked up mopeds, raids on individuals suspected of stealing and high visibility patrols in key hot spots on April 22.

Detective Superintendent Raffaele D’Orsi who leads Operation Venice said: "We are committed to taking every opportunity to divert, disrupt, detect and prosecute those involved in moped, scooter and motor cycle related criminality.
"This robust and collaborative response will ensure more offenders are brought to justice, and through industry engagement the vehicles are better protected with improved security measures".
