Seven busy roads in Bromley could be closed to traffic for 18 months for gas works.

Southern Gas Networks will be completing gas main connection works on Monday, May 20, 2024, across seven streets in Bromley.

During this time, there will be restrictions on traffic and there is no specified finish date.

The roads affected are:

1. Homestead Road, Chelsfield

2. Melvin Road, Penge

3. Oxenden Wood Road, Chelsfield

4. Spring Gardens, Chelsfield

5. The Meadows, Chelsfield

6. The Meadway, Chelsfield

7. The Woodlands, Chelsfield

Until the construction work is done, no one can park their vehicle on the streets listed in the Notice or nearby streets that might be affected.

If you break this rule, your vehicle might be towed away by the Council.

Also, you can't drive your vehicle on these streets unless you're following the signs.

If you do, you might be fined.

During this time, traffic will be directed through other streets nearby.

This rule will be in place for a maximum of 18 months, starting from the beginning date mentioned in the Notice.

But don't worry, you'll still have access to your property, and efforts will be made to keep the roads around the closure open as much as possible.

Emergency access will be always maintained.

Nothing in the Order will apply to cars being used in connection with the works.

Nothing in the Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or direction of a Police Officer in uniform or a Traffic Warden.
